The Curtis Cup originally was to be played June 12-14, 2020 at Conwy Golf Club in Wales but was postponed to Aug. 26-28, 2021 at the same venue because of the global pandemic.

The practice squad roster includes only one junior player in Rose Zhang, the winner of the 2020 U.S. Women’s Amateur who currently sits atop the World Amateur Golf Ranking. Including Zhang, eight of the 12 women also were invited to a practice session last December. Only Kuehn, Matthews, Schofill and Swann are new additions this time around.

An invitation to the practice session does not guarantee a spot on the eventual eight-woman U.S. team. Automatic selections go to the reigning U.S. Women’s Amateur champion, along with the McCormack Medal winner and the top three players in the Women’s World Amateur Golf Ranking (chosen at a to-be-determined date), if eligible. The 2021 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship will be played Aug. 2-8 at Westchester Country Club in Rye, N.Y., with the recipient of the McCormack Medal being named shortly thereafter.

Sarah Ingram, a three-time U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur champion (1991, 1993, 1994) and a member of three USA Curtis Cup Teams (1992, 1994 and 1996), will captain the Americans as they try to retain the Cup.
