Sainz, who impressed at McLaren during his two seasons with the Woking team, will partner Charles Leclerc this season in the youngest Scuderia driver lineup since 1968.

“Therefore, I guess the easiest way to describe what joining Ferrari means to me is a childhood dream come true. However, the way I see it, to put on the red race suit and drive for this team is much more than just a dream. As a racing driver, it’s a great honour and a big responsibility that I really look forward to experiencing and embracing.”
After showing early promise with Toro Rosso, Sainz endured a difficult 2018 campaign at Renault before making the move to McLaren.
He finished sixth in the drivers’ championship during both his seasons with the team and was chosen to replace the outgoing Sebastian Vettel in early 2020.

Looking ahead to the next chapter in his career, the 26-year-old said that he was aiming to become world champion with the Scuderia.
“Since the very first day I started racing I only had two targets in mind: to become a Formula 1 Grand Prix driver and to win the World Championship,” Sainz added.
